Our philosophy is to train all dogs and people to the highest standards possible. All of our instruction is designed to enhance the training experience, and to help you bond more closely with your dog.
Unlike obedience clubs, "we conduct real life training" at our indoor training centre and out in public areas.
We also have group field excursions throughout the year which offers students the opportunity to practice and perfect newly acquired skills with professional instructors by your side every step of the way.
Why wait until your puppy is out of control and causing problems in your home, as we train puppies from any age (as long as they have had their age appropriate vaccinations) . Early training enables us to solve training or behaviour issues before they take hold.
You can teach an old dog new tricks!
We highly recommend that all family members (children and adults) are involved in the training process and we welcome children to participate as they are generally the ones playing in the backyard with the dog. Children therefore must learn the correct way to interact and establish a leadership role with the dog.
We welcome children of any age to attend training, provided they are well behaved and attentive. (Inline with our occupational health and safety policies, we require 2 adults to be in attendance when children are involved in training). We understand that this may make things a little difficult for some attendees with children, but we believe it is a responsible approach for us to take. During your free assessment, we will also assess your child's suitability to attend. |

The Owners
Glenn has been training dogs since he was fourteen when he began at the German Shepherd Club of Victoria (Malvern Branch). Over the years Glenn has trained numerous dogs including wolves and dingoes. He has trained dogs for search and rescue, scent detection, scent discrimination (a world first in conjunction with La Trobe university) and tracking. He has also trained dogs for obedience competitions and show.
Glenn holds K-9 Behaviour Seminars and is a director and head trainer for ACIS (Australian Canine Investigative Services) a drug, alcohol and weapons detection service primarily contracted to schools and business. Whilst being an advocate for Obedience classes, Glenn firmly believes that private lessons are the best way to achieve fast, lasting results.
"Most obedience schools have classes that are far too large with up to 30 in a class. This is certainly not conducive to learning and you definitely don’t have access to personal professional coaching. At the Victorian Dog Training Academy, we concentrate on you and your dog so that your skills are practiced and perfected under the watchful eye of our competent trained instructors".

"As the welfare and well being of your pet are our priority, we only supply services and products that will enhance the relationship between you and your dog. We also understand how important this relationship is, our pets can often be seen as a best friend, family member or even our children".
